As the first sitting Governor to visit the Chamber, the Governor assisted in the installation of five new officers and addressed issues facing the state, including energy self-sufficiency, crime prevention, affordable housing and homelessness, tax relief, and disaster preparedness. The Governor also thanked North Shore farmers for "preserving a rural lifestyle and open spaces" and for their contributions to the State's economy.
